Mr. Ashburne currently serves as the Treasurer for the Charleston Baptist Association. The Charleston Baptist Association strengthens churches, strengthens leaders and plants churches.
CURTIS BOSTIC – CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Mr. Bostic is committed to the pursuit of excellence in his work as a trial lawyer, in his community service and in his church leadership. He represents individuals, families and businesses in court for over 20 years. He is a member of numerous organizations advancing the art of litigation. His skill in trial has earned him the “Calhoun Advocacy Award” and induction into the the selective “National Order of Barristers” for excellence in the art of courtroom advocacy. he has been selected as a Fellow in the prestigious “Litigation Counsel of America.” Mr. Bostic has been chosen as counsel to corporations, both for-profit and non-profit. He has served as a professional legal personality for WCSC Channel 5 (NBC affiliate and WTAT Channel 24 (FOX affiliate). For over fifteen years, he hosted a daily radio broadcast. Curtis is a frequent lecturer on various legal topics including taxes and estate planning, church protection policies, dispute resolution and other matter affecting churches and other non-profit organizations. He has long been an influential member of the Charleston community. Elected to Charleston County Council for eight years (2001-2009) he served as both interim chairman and vice-chairman. He has served on numerous Charleston County board including Charleston’s Magistrate Oversight Committee, Public Safety and Health Committee and the Charleston County Aviation Authority among others. In 2004, he authored and sponsored the Charleston Greenbelt Banking Ordinance. To date, this highly successful program has garnered over 59 million dollars to facilitate the purchase of over 15,000 acres in parks and “greenspace” for the citizens of Charleston. He also served on Charleston’s Greenbelt Advisory Board. In 2005, he founded “Remember,” an international humanitarian aid organization that currently assists widows and orphans in six underserved countries. He frequently travels around the world in furtherance of this ministry. He has volunteered on numerous non-profit boards including Harvest Free Medical Clinic, Coastal CEF, Charleston County Motorcycle Squad, Charleson Bible Church, the Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center and Appalachian Bible College. Mr. Bostic is a former US Marine earning a Meritorious Mast for his actions during the ground campaign of Operation Desert Storm.
DR. SANDRA F. BYRD – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of CONNECT KIDS CLUB, CONNECT BOOK CLUB, and LITTLE LIBRARY CHURCH CHAPEL
In 2010, Sandra retired from the public-school system as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She was selected to develop and design the District’s After School Program and served as Coordinator until her retirement. She is an accomplished educator receiving numerous awards for her service including South Carolina Speech Therapy Program of the Year, Wil Lou Gray Teacher of the Year from Columbia College, Lexington District Teacher of the Year, Mack Elementary School Teacher of the Year, West Metro Teacher of the Year from the Chamber of Commerce and a nominated candidate Disney’s American Teacher Award. Dr. Byrd recently relocated to Daniel Island to accept a position in Children’s Ministry at The Church at LifePark in Mt. Pleasant, SC. While at LifePark, she answered the call to become Coastal Child Evangelism Fellowship’s first Director. She has a wealth of experience dating back to the 1980’s with the Good News Clubs sponsored by CEF. Sandra recently stepped away from CEF to help start the non-profit organization Connect Kids Club with the former Coastal CEF Board of Directors. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Connect. Education- Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology/Columbia College, Master’s in Education/M.Ed from Cambridge and earned a Doctorate of Ministry/DMin and is currently working on her second doctoral as a Ph.D candidate in Education Administration.
JEFFERY S. DANIELS – BOARD MEMBER
Mr. Daniels participates in developing strategic direction for the organization, raising funds and developing relationships with local officials, church leaders, business leaders and the body of Christ to promote the vision for the Great Commission. Jeff was commissioned into the US Air Force upon graduation from East Carolina University in 1992. During his distinguished career, Jeff served in numerous leadership assignments both peacetime and wartime operations including Chief 427th Airlift Wind Command Post, Commander 437th Aircrew Flight Equipment Flight, Assistant Director of Operations 816th, Expeditionary Airlift Squadron and Director Strategic Deployment Cell, Seoul, Republic of Korea. He is a Joint Forces qualified office with mufti-national coalition leadership experience having served with US Forces Korea (J-5) staff in Seoul, ROK and the Strategic Airlift Capability, heavy Airlift Wing-Chief Pilot, Papa, Hungary. Jeff is a Command Pilot with over 6000 military flight hours in the T-37, T-1, C-5 and C-17. He has flown over 500 combat sorites totaling more than 1400 combat hours in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was qualified as an Evaluator, Airdrop and Demonstration pilot in the C-17 and one of only 26 pilots certified to fly highly sensitive “special airlift Missions”. He retired from the USAF in late 2015 and now flies the A-330 at American Airlines. PASTOR GREG SMITH – VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Greg Smith and his wife Danielle are natives of the Lowcountry of South Carolina. He is a graduate of Summerville High School and Charleston Southern University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia International University. Pastor Smith has been in full-time ministry since 1995. He is currently working on completing his Doctor of Ministry in Expositional Preaching at The Master’s Seminary. Pastor Smith serves the congregation at Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church located in Charleston, South Carolina.
DANIELLE WALKER – SECRETARY OF THE BOARD
Danielle Walker became a member of the California bar in 2004. Since that time, she has worked with Mr. Curtis Bostick in both transactional law and complex litigation matters. Ms. Walker works with business and non-profits of all sizes from start-ups to dissolution or mergers. She works with the Bostic Law Team to tackle business purchases, tax matters, employee issues, purchases and leases of real estate, buy/sell agreements, contracts and other corporate structure matters. In addition to business and non-profit matters, Danielle works with estate and tax planning. She has been involved in numerous business, family and personal asset management including structure planning. Her years of experience include drafting various types of wills, trusts and related documents for all manner of family and personal needs. As a licensed real estate broker, Ms. Walker works with clients in all types of real estate transactions including both residential and commercial. Ms. Walker is active in her church and community. She serves on the board of Remember, a ministry to persecuted Christians and the board at Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center.
JACK WHITE – BOARD MEMBER
Jack White joined Charleston Bible Church as a Pastor and a Senior Elder. He has been with Charleston Bible Church since 1974 and oversees the education ministries. Pastor White is passionate about teaching and preaching the Word of God. He has more than thirty years of teaching experience and currently is employed at Charleston Christian School teaching 3rd and 4th graders. Jack is married to Sharon and they have five children.
